Our political vision
We, the A.E.E.D. foundation adamantly retain freedom of thought,
ethical deliberation and responsible action as fundamentals for any form of
democratic “Socio-political-economic-cultural” (SPEC) system. We therefore respect
and desire for human societies “healthy democratic systems”. According to our
world vision, democracy - should be activated by average wise and free people. They
are able to deliberate what is adequately, relevantly and relatively best for them
and for society. They have to be with some specific qualities to be good
catalysts on which to base good and dynamic communities. These qualities are:
reciprocal respect, high regard for freedom of thought, ethics, action and
finally mature and responsible behaviour without traces of any form of
hypocrisy. According to our world vision, without these pillars any democratic
structure can be disastrous not only for all members of a community but also
for the rest of the democratic world.
The freedom and AEED foundation vision
Freedom is the best dynamic form and way of being in the
world. We know the nature is governed not by ethics but by the principle of “homo
homini lupus est”(the law of all against all). That is to say, as Thomas
Hobbes affirms the nature is governed by innate primitive laws. They are
mutually destructive and the world in this way is the worst place to live where
tyranny and mighty become values. So, we have to establish civil societies governed
by the reason. Therefore, the freedom that we intend for the practical world is
adamantly the dimension of “being in the world” together, sharing with fairness
relevant, relative natural resources
with the people of different parts of the world, protecting the common world
and atmosphere and producing
necessary things (in the context), services and collaborating with people from
all over the world. Thus, today, the world should concentrate in creating new educational,
formative and training ways for people. This means; to fulfil the global
necessities and above all to produce a more responsible global mentality. This
relatively new situation is a complex problem due to a number of reasons. We
all are coming from relevantly and relatively different families, societies,
countries with typical civil and cultural backgrounds and various identities.
Nevertheless, these relevant, relative identities are essential and every Sovereignty
State has the duty to keep and to support their own traditional identities to continue. In
this way, we find that the “alternative educational” processes of each State have
a lot to do on this behalf. Each State working within and with considerably
special individuals can help to form people for the global necessities. The
AEED Foundation has deliberated from the beginning to implement researches
concerning all issues.
Necessity of Alternative educational method
To understand the necessity of “alternative education” we have to analyse a few important concepts such as: man with an adequate definition of man, world, natural resources, nature of lifestyles, normal and alternative education, freedom, critical-creativity, practical wisdom, logic. We have to understand the world today with a critical point of view. As we all can understand with facts, the world is dominated by a few people who are thinking for their petty interests lead all to a dark trench. They have bad and dark ideas (innate primitive impulses) of democracy and of human rights. They are the bullies on earth. Because of them, human life on earth is split into parts. Thus, we can individuate so many levels of poverty and misery and many forms of riches in the world. In this way, we can understand that there are some groups of people who are deciding everything without respecting freedom, mutual respect, sovereignty of states and democracy, lead the world for a common suicide. Therefore, we need alternative education systems to inform people who are suffering from this offensive behaviour of bullies and their allies of the world.
Conclusion
I have reflected always on an “alternative” educational
dynamic process without substituting any SPEC system formation. As a result, I’ve
found “Alternative Educational and Economic Development Foundation” in Colombo
15 in 1993. I, the founder of the AEED Foundation could explicitly experiment
new methods, new ways of seen the world around and to develop phenomena while
promoting the critical-creative thinking dynamics for urban poor of Colombo 15
in Sri Lanka. Then, I won a scholarship from Rome (Italy), to study philosophy in 1995. I was given that scholarship on the base of what I had done practically in Sri
Lanka (founder of AEED Foundation) and for my critical-creative world vision. So, in Rome I’ve found no doubt the best
opportunities and matters to develop my talents, my world vision and my
critical-creative thinking. Thus, I have discussed the Kantian thought (problem of infinite: mathematical and thought processes) for my
specialization in Philosophy in 2003 (Rome) and then for my doctoral research
on Philosophy I’ve concentrated on creation, invention, formation and valid of
knowledge in Aristotle and in the German philosopher H. G. Gadamer 2008 (Rhetoric and Hermeneutic as complementary instruments to search for the truth in Aristotle and in Gadamer, Rome 2008).
Moreover, I’ve started a web blog to publish my reflections, short articles,
research papers and other creative elements (comics) and eventually it became a
web with the definition which I gave to man: avente logos (www.aventelogos.org). Further, I’ve
collaborated with some university professors in Rome and we’ve established an
academy for Philosophic research (www.asusweb.it).
